Working/Performance Management
What It Does
Working/Performance Management is a leadership
skill and development course. Participants gain an increased
understanding of human behavior and recognize how their actions
affect others. The course goes beyond understanding to provide
leadership skills that contribute to a positive work environment and
create pride in workmanship. The course requires active
participation in each instructional module to ensure learning by all
participants.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Know how to act and communicate in ways
that support the organization’s value for customers, safety and
continuous improvement.
- Understand the role of leadership in
creating a values-based culture through the alignment of the
systems, values, and behaviors that produce results.
- Understand the role of behavior, the
organizational and personal factors that have an impact on
behavior, and the importance of creating a positive work
environment.
- Improve personal skills in applying these
concepts to have a positive impact on the performance of
themselves and others.
- Develop plans for improving organizational
systems based on behavioral principles.
Behavioral Concepts
- Participants learn a basic framework for
understanding human behavior, and apply those concepts in
analyzing the workplace. The focus is on the implication of
these concepts for personal interactions as well as formal
systems and procedures.
Communication and Feedback Skills
- Participants learn specific rules for
interacting with others to create positive relationships and
provide positive leadership. They also conduct a self-assessment
and develop an action plan for personal development.
